Publications of the AG

Mitteilungen der AG / Annual reports

The AG publishes the Mitteilungen der Astronomischen Gesellschaft (in German) including annual reports of institutions working in the field of astronomy in Germany, German-speaking Switzerland, and Austria, obituaries, reports of the Executive Committee, e.g., on meetings, minutes of the regular meetings of the General Assembly, reports on the development of membership and the Treasurer's reports.

The most recent publication is volume 92 of 2009.
In 2007 volume 90, featuring the obituary for our member Konstantin Graf Ferrari d'Occhieppo and the annual reports of 2006.
Before that, volume 89 (2006), featuring obituaries for our members Wolfgang Priester, Karl-Heinz Schmidt, Peter Stumpff und Hartmut Holweger, the annual reports of 2005, the reports on the annual meeting in Cologne in 2005, and the minutes of the 79th regular General Assembly meeting of the AG.

All volumes are available from the Secretary for 20€ each plus postage (see Executive Comittee).

All volumes of the Mitteilungen are written as postcript file via the AG LaTeX macro and can be downloaded here.


Reviews in Modern Astronomy

Since 1988 the AG publishes the Reviews in Modern Astronomy (RMA) featuring the key note and highlight talks given at the Society's meetings as well as presenting the abstracts of talks or posters on scientific research.
They are devoted exclusively to the invited Reviews, the Karl Schwarzschild Lecture, the Ludwig Biermann Award Lecture, and the highlight contributions from leading scientists reporting on recent progress and scientific achievements at their respective institutes.

The volumes 1-14 (except for 2) can be obtained from the bookstore or the Secretary at a price of 30 € (vol. 1, 3-7) resp. 35€ (vol.8-14) plus postage. Beginning with volume 15, the Reviews are published by Wiley-VCH and only available via bookstore (also see here).


Astronomical Notes & Late Contributions (Posters)
(formerly: AG Abstract Series)

Also since 1988 the AG Abstract Series is published featuring the abstracts of talks or posters on scientific research.

Summaries of contributions to splinter meetings or posters of the International Scientific Meetings are published as Late Contributions in the Supplementary Issues of the Astronomical Notes from 2003 onwards. You can access them on the Wiley InterScience page.

Volume 18 of the AG Abstract Series (ADS) includes the abstracts of contributions to the mini symposia and of the posters presented at the Joint European and National Meeting JENAM 2001 of the European Astronomical Society and the AG in Munich in 2001. (276 p)
Volume 17 of the AG Abstract Series (ADS) includes the abstracts of contributions to the splinter meetings and of the posters presented at the meeting in Bremen in 2000. (102 p.)
Volume 16 of the AG Abstract Series (ADS) includes the abstracts of contributions presented at the International Spring Meeting in Heidelberg in 2000. (58 p.)
Volume 15 of the AG Abstract Series (ADS) includes the abstracts of contributions to the splinter meetings and of the posters presented at the meeting in Göttingen in 1999. (154 p.)
Volume 14 of the AG Abstract Series includes the abstracts of contributions to the splinter meetings and of the posters presented at the meeting in Heidelberg in 1998. (168 p.)

Vol.18 and earlier volumes (vol.14 is out of print) are available from the Secretary for 5€ plus postage.
